1. Read condition from photos, not adjectives

Grading language ("very good", "excellent") varies between sellers, so treat the photos as the record. On every Luxury Lookbook listing, the photos show the exact piece that ships — each item is photographed individually. Inspect:

  • Corners and edges — the first place coated canvas and leather show wear.
  • Hardware — plating rub on zippers, clasps, and chain links.
  • Interior — lining marks, pen ticks, and pocket wear tell you how the bag was carried.
  • Handles and straps — darkening on vachetta leather, cracking on rolled edges.
